Women's Health

Healthier, Happier and Better Looking You.

Seven medical conditions that are of great concern to women’s are: heart disease, breast cancer, osteoporosis, ovarian and cervical cancer, gynecological health depression, autoimmune diseases and menopause. Lets take a look of each of the in detail;

Heart Disease

Women’s that suffers suffer from high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or smoke; factors that contribute to heart disease. Over the years, women heart patients have increased worryingly.

Osteoporosis

Hunched backs, back pain, and frailty used to be things older women had to accept but now even the younger generation are getting it. Osteoporosis and broken bones are an old woman's disease right?

No, that is not right! Young women do get osteoporosis, although rarely. The sooner we understand that young women can and do fracture bones and develop osteoporosis the better. Also, the sooner we accept that the bone we build in our childhood and teen years provides a "bone bank" from which we can borrow in older age the better. Primary reason to this is because lack of nutrition intake to build a strong bone and joints. Your body will do what it can to repair bone damage, but you have to provide the tools for it, such as adequate magnesium, calcium, vitamin D3 and essential omega oil consumption. Weight-bearing physical activity are very important as well.

Depression

Depression appears to affect more women than men. The National Institute of Mental Health reports that about 50% women are affected by a depressive disorder each year. Sometimes, hormonal changes can also trigger the condition, particularly after pregnancy (postpartum) or around menopause.

Breast Cancer

Breast cancer, which typically originates in the lining of the milk ducts, can spread to other organs, and is the most aggressive cancer affecting the global female population. The condition presents more among female populations in developed nations due to their extended life spans. Initially, women afflicted with breast cancer may develop breast lumps. Most breast lumps are nonthreatening, but it is important for women to have each one checked by a care provider. Besides the heart, breast contains the large number mitochondria cells for women. Co-enzyme Q10, multivitamin and vitamin C are very important to prevent, manage and reverse breast cancer.

Ovarian and Cervical Cancer

Many people are not aware of the differences between ovarian and cervical cancer. Cervical cancer originates in the lower uterus, while ovarian cancer starts in the Fallopian tubes. While both conditions cause similar pain, cervical cancer also causes discharge and pain during intercourse. While ovarian cancer presents extremely vague symptoms, the condition is very complex. Finally, Pap smears detect cervical but not ovarian cancer.

Gynecological Health

Bleeding and discharge are a normal part of the menstrual cycle. However, added symptoms during menstruation may indicate health issues, and unusual symptoms, such as bleeding between menstruation and frequent urinating, can mimic other health conditions. Pre-existing conditions can worsen during pregnancy, threatening the health of a mother and her child. Asthma, diabetes, and depression can harm the mother and child during pregnancy if not managed properly. Pregnancy can cause a healthy mother’s red blood cell count to drop, a condition called anemia, or induce depression. From about age 14 to 51, women typically need more iron than men. This is due to their loss of blood during menstruation, which typically happens in a cycle of 28 to 40 days.

Autoimmune Diseases

Autoimmune diseases are a group of disorders in which the immune system attacks the body and destroys or alters tissues. There are more than 80 serious chronic illnesses in this category, including lupus, multiple sclerosis, and type 1 diabetes. Many women’s suffers from rheumatoid arthritis (RA) which is an autoimmune disease that can cause joint pain and damage throughout your body.

Menopause

Women will encounter the term “menopause” throughout this page to describe the gradual transition that occurs in three stages:

Perimenopause - or pre-menopause - is the time leading up to menopause. There is a large variation of when this can begin. Most women begin to experience the symptoms between the ages of 40 and 58. The average age is 51. And, it can last anywhere from seven to 14 years. You’ve officially made it to menopause 12 months after your last menstrual period. Post-menopause is the aptly named time after menopause. You may continue to experience some of the symptoms of perimenopause.

But more than 85 percent of women are estimated to experience at least some symptoms related to declines in estrogen. The following are some signs and symptoms of menopause: Irregular periods (there’s still a likelihood you could become pregnant, so continue any birth control until you haven’t had a period for at least 12 months)

  • Mood swings

  • Weight gain

  • Hot flashes/flushes and night sweats

  • Difficulty sleeping and increased fatigue (often related to night sweats)

  • Headaches

  • Vaginal dryness
